The theories of the Double Vicious Circle and binqi form the foundation of the Buqi system.

Overproduction of binqi can come from the narrowing of the intervertebral spaces due to a long-standing poor body posture. The narrowing of these spaces in the spinal column may inhibit nerves or pinch arteries. Depending on its location it can directly or indirectly diminish the blood circulation.
Repressed or continuous
negative emotions and excessive thinking are also causes of binqi. It becomes impossible for the binqi to leave naturally and it then accumulates in the body. Over a long period of time this accumulation may lead to disease.
Because these factors work together to influence each other, they can form a Double Vicious Circle of accumulation of negative qi.  Fortunately, improvement of one area as through
Buqi treatment can positively affect both, and improve the overall health of the patient.
